FIRST ACTIVITIES IN KARLSHAMN:

A SCHOOL, A TOWN TOUR AND MEETING NEW PEOPLE

---

As soon as we left our accommodation, we headed for the school, it's an awesome place! Big classrooms, lockers, a large dining room, no noise and in the middle of nature... a dream for any student! We were taken to a fabulous beautiful old hall and one of the heads of the school, Mrs Maria Aasen, welcomed us to the school.

---

Then, we got to know each partner by playing games. After that, we walked around this fantastic school in groups. On one of the days of the week we also learnt more about Sweden during a nice walk following questions posted on trees and other parts of the forest surrounding the school.

---

We tasted a bit of the Swedish gastronomy from the school kitchen at lunch time, but the best food was the dinner we all enjoyed together at school with delicious dishes cooked by the Swedish families.

---

It was great to visit this beautiful town by the shore of the Baltic Sea: Karlshamn has nature everywhere, beautiful wooden houses, statues… and we enjoyed lots of lovely stories told by one of the teachers of the school, Mr Ulf Andersson, who guided us through the town.  When you come to the centre of Karlshamn, you find the Stortoget, that’s to say, the Big Square (learning Swedish in the future would be a great idea).

---

The Town Hall is situated here, in the Stortoget. It is a cool building whose façade draws your attention and looks like a palace. We were greeted and welcome by a representative of the Town Hall on Wednesday 18th and they gave a present to every visitor: a bottle-thermos with "Karlshamn" written on it, something that we all liked.
