LEARNING AND SIGHTSEEING TRIPS: KOSTA BODA GLASS FACTORY,

KARLSKRONA AND

RONNEBY BRUNNSPARK

---

I really felt like visiting Kosta Boda, the famous Swedish glass factory. It is about 95 kilometres from Karlshamn, so we had to wake up early to have our breakfast  and then, meet the other participants to take the bus on time.

---

The visit to the factory showed us how wonderful objects, such as plates, all types of glasses, bowls, jars, etc, were made, but also creative objects, that’s to say, true art objects which we could see in the shops of the factory.

---

We learnt a lot about the manufacturing of glass objects, which are basically created by sand, soda ash and limestone, it’s like magic! Later, we could make our own glass piece by blowing ourselves and we finally got our own coloured glass ball!

---

Other trip took us to Karlskrona, whose naval port and other buildings are UNESCO World Heritage. Water is everywhere in this town and it has the biggest market square in Sweden! There are two important churches in this square, Frederik’s Church and the Church of the Holy Trinity. We took lots of photos there.

---

But the best of this city is the splendid and modern Naval Museum, where we enjoyed everything related to Sweden and its close connection to the sea.

---

Only 30 kilometres far from Karlskrona, there’s the Brunnspark, just outside the town of Ronneby; its lush vegetation makes it a dreamy place. There is a wooden building, “Naturum”, which shows an exhibition about nature, the flora and fauna of that area, the Blekinge archipelago.
