This is a municipal upper secondary school which is located in the coastal town of Karlshamn, in the South of Sweden. The school offers 13 national programs, eight of which are vocational programs and five are university preparatory. In addition, there are several introductory programs that are constantly growing due to the social and political changes of the outside world.

These changes are strongly reflected on the school. Two years ago there came more than 100 foreign students, of 16 and 20 years old, most of them originate from Syrian and Afghanistan. Currently there are 1200 students and 120 teachers in the school, out of them there are 30 people teaching and helping the newly arrived learners.



The school is situated in the south of Spain in the rural village of La Puebla de Cazalla, which is not too far from important big cities in Spain, like Seville or Córdoba. It has about 400 pupils and 42 teachers. The school teaches Obligatory Secondary Education, but also higher education with four different specializations in A-levels: Science, Engineering, Social Studies and Languages. There’s also vocational education with two different Middle Grade Training Professional Courses.

The economical level of the village is not very high and the most important production is the olive oil. In the spring and summer, many families have to move to the Balearic Islands or other tourist spots on the coasts to earn their living in hotels and restaurants.

There are Moroccan, Eastern European and South American pupils in the school and both teachers and other specialists try very hard to make them be integrated in the school life, graduate and succeed in getting a job.




The school is located in Gela, in the South coast of Sicily, Italy. The students can choose to specialise in Administration, Finance and Marketing, Business Information Systems, Marketing and International Relations, Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Management Services.

There are about 900 students and 130 teachers and there are immigrant students who obviously need a hand out to start a new life in a foreign country.

The school has always been open to new developments in innovative teaching and its priority is to educate open-minded, educated people who will actively take part in the European job market. 



The 3rd General Lyceum of Corfu is a public school of secondary education which is situated in Greece, in the main town of this island.

It has 381 students, aged from 15 to 18 years old and 32 teachers. Among their students, there are 50-60 foreign students. Furthermore 15% of our student community comes from second generation immigrant families.

Moreover, a small percentage of their students faces learning difficulties or requires special care and support due to various personal, family or socioeconomic problems.

It is their priority to ensure equal chances to all students in learning and the elimination of differences between them that reside firstly in the social background and secondly in students' personal profile.




This school is actually a cluster of schools named "Agrupamento de Escolas Marcelino Mesquita do Cartaxo" which located northwest of Lisbon. The school ranges from pre-school and kindergarten, primary school to secondary school and junior and senior high school with a total number of 2105 students aged between 3 and 20 years old.

There are 200 teachers in the school and it offers regular courses involving study areas, like science and technology, economy, arts and humanities and also vocational courses in the areas of Trade and Commerce, Management, wine production, Computer Science, Sports, Lab, hotel industry, bar service, catering and cookery.

They have students who come from various cultural and economic backgrounds, from urban and rural areas they work in a multi-cultural environment as they host students from different countries and nationalities.



The Lüttfeld Vocational College is located in a rural area, in the city of Lemgo, district of Lippe in Germany. The city of Hannover is the nearest big city. There are 2500 students aged between 16 and 24 years old and 125 teachers in the school and it teaches a wide range of education courses, like mechanical and electrical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, media design, social or health care and there are very different levels of education: vocational preparation and education, O-level, A-level and advanced technical and social education.

25% of students come from a socially deprived family background and about 20% of the students need special socio-educational support and 20% of them have an Eastern European immigrant background. Besides, the school has about 100 students refugees aged between 15 and 20 from the Middle East like Syria, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq and from some parts of Africa, such as Guinea or Nigeria.
