Comenius School Partnership 2006-2009, United Kingdom, Finland and Spain
Building a Europe for future by fostering a greater understanding of the social and cultural differences in a diverse Europe.
After having attended to a meeting in the Didcot Civic Centre in Oxford, UK, in January 2005 and where more than 200 European teachers met, we joined a Finnish school and an English school to carry out a project which eventually produced a cookery book which included cultural and historical references to the origin of the recipes in the book, as well as original illustrations created by the students.
Throughout the three years of the partnership, we achieved nine motilities with lots of cultural activities organised by the hosts of the three schools: Rautalampi in Finland, Biscester in England (which was the coordinator school) and La Puebla de Cazalla in Spain.
We enjoyed UNESCO sites, cathedrals, castles, palaces, museums, historical cities, natural parks, new sports and games, traditional dances, concerts… and we cooked together, of course.
The people of the villages involved in the project took an active part, especially the local authorities and the parents’ associations.

Después de haber acudido a un encuentro en el Centro Cívico de Didcot en Oxford, Reino Unido, en enero de 2005 y donde más de 200 profesores europeos se encontraron, nos unimos a una escuela finlandesa y una inglesa para llevar a cabo un proyecto que finalmente produjo un libro de cocina que incluía referencias culturales e históricas al origen de las recetas del libro, así como ilustraciones originales realizadas por los alumnos.
A través de los tres años de asociación, realizamos nueve movilidades con muchas actividades organizadas por los anfitriones de las tres escuelas: Rautalampi en Finlandia, Biscester en Inglaterra (que era la escuela coordinadora) y La Puebla de Cazalla (aquí en España). Disfrutamos de lugares declarados por la UNESCO Patrimonio de la Humanidad, catedrales, castillos, palacios, museos, ciudades históricas, parques naturales, deportes y juegos nuevos, bailes tradicionales, conciertos… y por supuesto cocinamos juntos.
La gente de las ciudades implicadas en el proyecto tomó parte activa, especialmente las autoridades locales y las asociaciones de padres.
