Les Arts Dans Ma Ville (regards d’adolescents)
This ambitious project was written with partners from other four European schools from Marseille in France, Ragusa in Italy, Adana in Turkey and Košice in Slovakia.
For us, the most remarkable features of this adventure were: the possibility of dealing with art and artistic production, working with such different partners coming from very distant cultural backgrounds and finally it was highly attractive to use not only English, but also French during the project.
We had written a very exhaustive project which travelled through many different types of artistic production. In every meeting in the partner schools, the students from the five countries carried out workshops of all kinds: painting, pottery, glazed tile design, watercolours, photo and video edition. All of this was an idea inspired by the fact that both Marseille, and Košice had been recently named Cultural European Capitals.
We took advantage of every visit by learning from the museums and art exhibitions that could be found in the cities involved in the project. We also made our students travel through the History of Art and made them feel part of the artistic process. The project was also a step ahead to teach extra knowledge about art to our students, something really essential if we take into account the unimportant place that art in general occupies in the school curricula of our country.
It was exciting to select twenty-five excellent students to let them enjoy the daily life of a foreign family and create tight links with a student of their own age. For many reasons, they lived the trip of their lives in France, Italy, Turkey or Slovakia.
It would be endless to list the places visited by our students during the project, but we can stand out: the new and impressive MUCEM in Marseille (the Museum of the Mediterranean Civilizations), the Archaeological Remains of Siracusa in Sicily, the wonderful view of the Turkish Cappadocia rock formations and the small churches hidden everywhere and the splendid architecture of the castles of the mountains in the north of Slovakia.

El Arte en mi ciudad (miradas de los adolescentes)
Este ambicioso proyecto fue escrito con otras cuatro escuelas europeas de Marsella en Francia, Ragusa en Italia, Adana en Turquía y Košice en Eslovaquia.
Para nosotros, las características más destacadas de esta aventura fueron: la posibilidad de tratar el arte y la producción artística, trabajar con socios tan diferentes de contextos culturales muy distantes y finalmente era un proyecto muy atractivo por usar no sólo el inglés, sino también el francés.
Habíamos escrito un proyecto muy exhaustivo que viajaba a través de muchos tipos diferentes de producción artística. En cada encuentro en las escuelas asociadas, los estudiantes de los cinco países llevaron a cabo talleres de todas clases: pintura, cerámica, azulejos, acuarelas, edición de fotografía y vídeo,… Todo esto fue una idea inspirada por el hecho de que tanto Marsella, como Košice habían sido recientemente declaradas Capitales Europeas de la Cultura.
Nos aprovechamos de todas las visitas aprendiendo de los museos y las exposiciones de arte que se desarrollaron en las ciudades involucradas en el proyecto. También hicimos que nuestros alumnos viajaran por la Historia del Arte y que se sintieran parte del proceso artístico. El proyecto fue también un paso adelante para enseñarles a nuestros alumnos algún conocimiento extra sobre arte, algo realmente esencial si consideramos el lugar tan poco importante que el arte en general ocupa en los planes escolares de nuestro país.
Fue emocionante seleccionar a veinticinco alumnos excelentes para permitirles disfrutar de la vida de una familia extranjera y crear vínculos con estudiantes de su propia edad. Sin embargo, también vivieron el viaje de sus vidas en Francia, Italia, Turquía o Eslovaquia.
Sería inacabable hacer una lista de los lugares visitados por nuestros estudiantes durante el proyecto, pero podemos destacar: el nuevo e impresionante MUCEM en Marsella (Museo de las Civilizaciones Mediterráneas), los restos arqueológicos de Siracusa en Sicilia, el maravilloso espectáculo de las formaciones rocosas de la Capadocia turca y sus pequeñas iglesias escondidas por todos sitios y la espléndida arquitectura de los castillos de las montañas del norte de Eslovaquia.
